Thoughts right after
September 11th, 2001 by Ulrich Bold
The terrorism that hit the US has shocked the world. Our hearts are filled
with compassion and prayers. The feeling of helplessness that each of us
experiences is a critical state in the process of bearing the shock. Our inner
sense of emotional security is out of balance. Thus we tend to gravitate to old
patterns, (be it actions, thoughts or emotions) that we know from the past, to
bring us individually and collectively back into emotional balance. Yet from my
personal perspective there lies danger within, because the old patterns are not
applicable to new circumstances.
Throughout the last few days I have received uncountable emails,
prayer-circles, quotes of Nostradamus and so on. And in all of them I see the
warmhearted motivation to be of help and support. Yet my personal take and
perspective as an evolutionary astrologer that has counseled thousands of
people, given uncountable lectures and workshops, and as a facilitator of Origin
Constellation Workshops, a brand new and amazing form of Healing workshops
motivates me to share my opinion.
I am aware that the following article might challenge your existing opinions
and beliefs. It might even trigger resistance. Yet, I want to throw a different
perspective into the discussion. For a moment, let us try and focus on the
bigger picture. Let us find meaning in the past to help us better understand the
future challenges, let us stay focused on resolutions based on universal
principles.
"The one, who swims against the stream, reaches the source"
Our challenge for Peace, Compassion and Non-attachment
by Ulrich Bold
Compassion
The unexpected attack of the US by terrorism has been overwhelming for each
of us and for most parts of the world. Our compassion and prayers are dedicated
to the victims and their families and friends, and also, to the brave hearted
helpers that lost their lives while helping others and to the thousands of
people that donated blood immediately and offered their support and help. I am
sure the Blessings of the Supreme Divine showers upon them.
Yet shouldn't our prayers also go to our government and the governments of
the world for them to find a way of non-violence? Shouldn't our prayers and our
compassion also, and especially, be with the perpetrators and the people, groups
and organizations that planned and committed this crime?
As I know from my healing work with perpetrators and their emotional healing
process, the cause for hate and violence is always rooted in their own deep
spiral of inner pain and torment, fueled by their own experiences of being
perpetrated upon. And if that pain grows deep enough over time and gets the
additional propagandistic fuel of political, militant and religious dogma, those
people will now have a (man-made) legitimate, rationalized reason to live out
their pain by hurting others. Yet, simultaneously, those very same acts of
violence will create an inner shock within the perpetrators themselves, leading
to feelings of immense guilt and self-disgust. These intense and painful
emotions will now be suppressed and replaced with self-righteousness and
political/religious fanaticism. This then leads to an identification with other
people of 'like-mind' as a way to avoid facing the torturing emotions inside
themselves caused by their own actions. Other people, countries and/or cultures
will now need to be seen as the enemy, rationalizing that as soon as that
'enemy' is weakened, hurt or even annihilated, they, the perpetrators, will feel
liberated and at peace. This is a viscous cycle that has been spinning for
thousands of years and has become the 'trade mark' of the Pisces Age. The
terrorism in NYC and Washington are just another chapter in this on going
viscous cycle.
The endless spiral of inner pain that is usually suppressed and then
counter-acted by more outer violence, revenge and superior righteousness
scenarios, creates, within all perpetrators, an emotional dungeon beyond words.
I have seen these people collapsing and being overwhelmed by their original pain
and the pain caused by their violent actions. Yet, these breakdowns could only
be triggered in two ways. Either the perpetrator was exhausted and was longing
for that breakdown. Thus only a little guidance helps them fall into their own
shame, which then will become the basis for healing. The second way is by
leading them to their original pain (what was done to them), then to have them
face their own cruel actions and then to lovingly guide them towards forgiveness
while taking responsibility for all of their actions. A process of divine grace
… indeed!
And if that process is avoided, as it is in most cases -often by drugs,
alcohol or other ways of numbing down the emotions - then these 'perpetrator
patterns' of pain and guilt will be energetically passed on to the next
generation, i.e. the children. As written in the bible, 'the sins of the
fathers'. (The leading edge insights of family theorist Bert Hellinger, that I
partly base my Origin Constellation Work upon, have revealed these dynamics
among generations and cultures). Personally, as someone born in Germany, I was
always deeply touched by the ability of holocaust survivors and their families
to truly forgive and to be at peace. Also, I see the deep pain and wounds among
the German people, and particularly, the pain and confusion of the generations
after the holocaust. The emotional burdens of having to deal with the 'sins'
(being perpetrators) of their grandparents generation, while often avoiding
their own emotional pain is the causal basis for the kind of suffering many
German people have created for the themselves.
So, why do I mention this? I see that at this moment in history the US, who
has almost never experienced a bombing of their own country (except Pearl Harbor
), raises its voice for revenge - a natural human instinct (Pluto). Yet, is that
really what our challenge is? Do we come from Love and Compassion, from Peace
and Wisdom or from fear (False Evidence Appearing Real)? Do we only have the
quote, "In God we Trust" on our money or do we have it within our
hearts and souls?
And especially those of us who call ourselves esoteric and spiritual, it is
now that we must stand up for the universal principles. Principles that promote
our embracing humanity as one.; principles that lead us to the new paradigms of
the Aquarius age; paradigms that recognize Equality of all differences, unity
and diversity, paradigms that support the dawning of this new Age of Aquarius.
To accomplish this we need to expand (Sagittarius) our compassion (Jupiter
ruler of Pisces and Sagittarius) so as to embrace, integrate and involve all
people. And we must do this despite the limited (Saturn) opinion (Gemini) of our
traditions and countries (Saturn), remembering that compassion can only be
effective when it goes hand in hand with non-attachment.
Non-Attachment
Non-attachment is not detachment! Non-attachment is a state of consciousness
that embraces the paradox of the universal truth; experiencing the true Self
which simply is what it is, which is Silence, Peace, and Bliss, all the while
dreaming the Cosmic Movie of having a body, having thoughts, living in a
material, dualistic world. Similar to when we dream at night. While we dream we
perceive the dream as real. When we awake, we realize the dream. Meaning, the
outer world, our body and our thoughts, appear as real during the day as dreams
appear real at night. Only in the brief moment of falling asleep and or waking
up do we tap briefly into the Nothingness of our true Self. Meditation can also
tap into that empty Nothingness of pure consciousness. Yet, because of our
upbringing, parental and cultural imprint and the collective Hypnosis (that we
are not even aware of - as Paramahansa Yogananda stated) we believe the outer
world, our body and our thoughts to be real. And yet, we are not our body, we
are not our thoughts, but only our true Self, the Self of ONE. The outer world
is like a Fata Morgana, the Maya, an energetic illusion that the Ego perceives
as real because the I-awareness or Ego is apart of the physical body and the
material world, thus, of the Cosmic Dream.
The original word in the Hebrew bible for the seducing serpent is Nechesh,
which originally means, 'that which appears as real'. And as long as I identify
with my body, its karmic path, and also with my mind and thoughts, I will
perceive all of that, including the world, as real. This is similar to being in
a 3 dimensional movie theater in which all of outer senses are fooled.
Nevertheless, we are watching a movie of reality that is not truly as it
appears. That is what I meant when I spoke of the 'paradox of the universal
truth'. Simply test it and ask yourself, who is 'I', where did it come from? Who
sees those horrible images on TV? Me! Who is Me? Where does 'I' come from? Where
is 'I' when 'I' don't think and don't pay attention to the outer world? Confront
your mind, which is also a part of the Cosmic Dream of the true Self.
I know that was a difficult paragraph. For a deeper understanding I would
love to recommend Robert Adams' Book, Silence of the Heart. Robert Adams had
experienced enlightenment during a math-test in Brooklyn when he was 14 years
old. He lived for a long time together with Paramahansa Yogananda as his
secretary.
And another helpful way to look at the world and to stay non-attached (not
detached!): Byron Katty, the founder of 'The Work' (www.thework.com)
states that there are only three kind of businesses:
- God's/Nature's business.
Everything is the Divine/God: Building up, maintenance, and destruction. On
a time-space level of life, good and bad things are part of the whole. Yin
and Yang.
- Other's business
What other people do, think etc. Even when someone doesn't pay you back a
loan, it is his/her business, because it will only affect him/her.
- YOUR business
Your business in the first place is to be in the Moment (Cancer), knowing
that everything is God (see above), to be honest to yourself and thus others
(not polite) and most of all to be in light hearted peace. How can that be
achieved? Still your mind and let it drop in your heart. The self-inquiry
technique of 'The Work' is a very powerful tool to achieve inner peace. And
it is also your business to act according to the truth of your heart and
inner most Self.
Yet we all tend to constantly interfere with the business of others or God..
That in turn creates all kinds of pain, fear, helplessness and dissatisfaction.
Why? Because the moment I interfere in someone else's business or in
Nature's/God's business I immediately leave my inner center of being at peace
within and thus outside, myself. I.e. if I want my partner to be a certain way,
I project my inner longing of what I need to give to myself onto my partner. And
if he/she won't do it, I feel rejected/angry or hurt. Then I blame the partner.
Truly a sign of having left my inner peace, by interfering with someone else's
business.
A wise man once was asked "What is God" ?. "What is, is God -
God is what is', was the answer. We, from our dominant and limited personal
perspective of 'I'-consciousness, are not able to see the big picture of events.
And, relative to our cultural upbringing, we give the mind too much power and
allow it to think in terms of 'good and evil'. We are trapped! And this trap
becomes the basis for all the judgments. And every judgment is but a boomerang
that, sooner or later, can only come back at us. That is part of the universal
law of cause and effect. The moment I judge 'what is' I judge reality, I judge
God, because everything is God. I interfere with 'what is' and get attached to
the Cosmic Dream; thus loosing a sense of my true Self. Remember there is only
One Consciousness. Jehovah means 'I am what I am'. And the original word for
'sin' meant to forget the Divine. Mother Meera, Avatar and incarnation of the
Divine Mother (www.mothermeera.com),
teaches only one statement:
"Always remember the Divine, think of God/Divine".
Now I have reached the most critical point of this article. Here I want to
emphasize, again, that my compassion, my love and my prayers are truly with the
victims, their families and their friends, of the terrorism that occurred in NYC
and Washington. And also, my prayers are with the perpetrators and their
families, remembering my only business is to stay in peace with what is. Meaning
to stay emotionally non-attached. To be in my heart and in peace. From my
perspective what happened is God's business, my business is to be at peace with
what is. To not project my own displaced emotions of anger, rage, pain,
helplessness and vindictiveness onto that collective event. And this can be a
great challenge because, typically, when collective catastrophes occur, as
individuals we tend to project our own unresolved emotions (i.e. sadness,
helplessness and anger, etc.) that we have been carrying and building up for
decades , unto the catastrophic event.
If I allow myself to slip into such projection while interfering with
something that takes me away from my business, i.e. to be in inner peace with
what is, I am in danger of being manipulated (Pluto). Meaning, I could agree
upon something both emotionally and mentally, that justifies revenge, more blood
and more pain. This is how to understand the psychology of the perpetrators, and
this is the pain of having a son or daughter go to war to fight and to kill,
legitimized by 'universalized' 'man-made laws' of self violation that govern the
cycles, over generations, of un-necessary pain, anger and hate..
In our shock we all watched TV and the news for many hours. As we know Pluto
is in Sagittarius in Opposition to Saturn in Gemini. While we were hungry for
information and explanations the media showed the horrible pictures again and
again and again and again. A technique that we use in hypnotherapy to induce the
conscious mind into a quiet and susceptible state, where we can input
information deeply into the subconscious!
The horrible attack against the Twin Towers and the Defense Building happened
only ONE time. Yet we re-create the images thousands of times! Our mind always
co-operates with our emotional body. Every thought creates an immediate
emotion/feeling. Try it; think of something painful that happened in your past
and sense what happens simultaneously with your emotions and feelings; see their
impact on your sense of inner peace. I do agree that this is a horrifying event,
yet, why broadcast it over and over again, day after day?. Why not show pictures
of the many wonderful people who selflessly helped their neighbors. Wouldn't
those images uplift our spirits much more? Yes? So, what is the intention in
broadcasting the images of horror? I see a propaganda trap (Sagittarius =
propaganda, Pluto = trap and manipulation) to stir up deep emotions (Pluto) and
to dictate/guide (Saturn) a certain opinion (Gemini) that is needed in a
democratic system, to justify activities of violence, that in many circles of
powerful people and companies would be financially and politically very
welcomed. Thus, this propaganda (Sagittarius)-Trap (Pluto) could be seen as a
vehicle to buy into the conflicting energy (astrological opposition of Pluto and
Saturn; opposition means polarization, thus duality) to control and guide
(Saturn) the mind (Gemini) into anger, rage, revenge and war (Pluto) for
international (Sagittarius) commerce (Gemini). On a deeper energetic level this
keeps the people in their fears (False Evidence Appearing Real) and in their
profound inner conflicts (staying in the consciousness of separation) thus in
duality, projected onto the collective screen of nations/religions.
With the year 2001 we have entered the first of twelve years that are
described in the accashic records as the '12-days-of-Light'. Meaning the
progressive intensity of higher energy to create a shift from
Duality-Consciousness/-Perception to Oneness-Consciousness/-Perception. This
energetic shift of the poles of duality within consciousness (some call it the
photon-belt) happens every 13,000 years (half an Aeon; transit of the
Spring-Equinox through the whole zodiac in 26,000 years). During these
12-Days-of-Light (12 years), every profound conflict that we have, individually
and collectively, surfaces and receives the universal invitation to expand
(Sagittarius) consciousness so as to be able to embrace as one, what appears as
dual.
In that context each of us experiences time as speeding up. Thus, a faster
manifestation of our thoughts, fears etc. into reality. Gary Bonnell (www.garybonnell.com)
reveals great insights about all this in his lectures that are also available on
tape. With that perspective each of us is invited, now, to overcome every
profound inner conflict as the energetic intensity increases. I will write an
article about this in the near future. Yet the call today, especially for those
of us called 'esoteric' and 'spiritual', is not to buy into the paradigms of the
old Pisces-Age, that have given birth to two religions, Islam and Christianity!
But rather, to embrace the universal call, to stay at peace within and outside.
A note on Nostradamus and other 'predictions'
Nostradamus is not de-shivered! Thus be careful to buy into emails that quote
this genius, who had made his predictions as a warning, not as a 'written in
stone' statement. Try to read the preface that Nostradamus wrote to his
spiritual son, the he calls 'Cesar', who should have been born in the later
19-hundreds. In that preface Nostradamus states, that he saw all these visions
as reactions to the attitude and actions of the collective. Yet at any time, he
said, the course of things can be changed, if we re-embrace the universal laws.
Again, Nostradamus is not dechiffred and his Quatrains are poetic and are not in
any chronological order. Thus many Quatrains fit on many events of his long-term
visions (from 1555 until 3797). Please, don't buy into quotes of Nostradamus,
especially, if the Verse and Quatrain is not revealed. Again many forces want to
keep you in fear (False Evidence Appearing Real)!
And a note on astrological or other predictions of seers: I personally do not
sympathize with those people that need to get attention by reading every
astrological symbol as a sign for catastrophes. I think they do spiritual
disservice! And by doing that they prove that they have no clue about the
healing powers of astrology (as Nostradamus by the way had) and no idea about
the real responsibilities and duties of being an astrologer or seer.
They don't give any explanation about why that symbolism happens from a true
evolutionary point of view (12 days of light) and they don't handle the
information that they mostly don't even understand correctly, in a spiritually
responsible way. But they buy into the collective fear that is based on the
fearful attachment of our existing world and its dynamics. If they would know
what the goal of all these developments is in the end and in what time frame,
that things will come to a break-even (literally), then, they would encourage
people relative to their evolutionary necessity and motivate them to keep their
thoughts fearless and bright!
Peace
Peace comes from within. And shouldn't we focus on peace? Again, shouldn't our
prayers also go to the people of the governments of the world? A prayer for them
to find a way of non-violence, a way of forgiveness and brotherhood (Islam and
Christianity are brothers after all), a new way to stop this insanity? Shouldn't
our prayers not only be with the victims, but especially with the perpetrators
and the groups and organizations that supported and enabled them.
Shouldn't we focus our thoughts on peace and not allow ourselves to be
emotionally attached to something that carries us away from our 'true' business?
Our business is to be at peace and to re-member the Divine! Now is the time to
walk the talk. Do not buy into fear, anger and revenge. Do not spread thoughts
and/or emotions of fear. Every thought counts! As the last American election so
clearly showed, every vote counts! That is our task in the shift of paradigms
from the Pisces Age to the Aquarius Age, from the Consciousness of Duality to
the consciousness of Oneness while still living in a dualistic world/reality..
If we Americans and Westerners buy into fear, be it by quoting predictions or
by screaming for revenge and war because of the media influence, then we are no
further evolved than the people that we have started to claim as our enemies:
The "oh so bad" Islamic people, that are as brain washed by their
media, leaders and government as we are in danger of becoming right now.
Isn't there a law of Karma; cause and effect? Haven't we the US and the West
used our economical and military superiority to hurt thousands of people in the
Islamic world? Isn't it a surprise that the symbol of western economy-power, the
World Trade Center, and of the military power, the Pentagon, have been the
target of the law of cause and effect, called. karma? Didn't Jesus say,
"He, that lives by the sword, dies by the sword"?
It is our call as a nation to remember our spiritual responsibilities in the
world. To take responsibility for what we as a nation had agreed upon in the
past, i.e. the military actions and endless bombing of parts of the Islamic
world. Yet also to take responsibility for the reaction of our action, i.e. the
terror in NYC and Washington.
I am aware that my last statement sounds harsh and cold-hearted, it is not. I
just try to look at the big picture instead of TV. The law of cause and effect
applies for everybody and every nation, even for the US. We as the people of one
of the greatest countries in the world, we, who are blessed to live in a free,
democratic system, must not allow subtle powers of destruction to manipulate us
emotionally and mentally to support more violence. Jesus said, "Love your
enemy". If we as Americans and Westerners, who state that we trust in God,
and we who arrogantly claim to be the highest civilization, will forget our
obligation in this millennium, if we forget our role as a universal, spiritual
nation, and we respond to violence with violence, then we have missed a great
chance to evolve away from tooth-for-tooth-and-eye-for-eye attitudes. It is up
to us, the US, to stop the insanity of violence.
We spiritual workers are obligated to embrace the big picture. Prayers are
powerful tools, also to breath and visualize the word 'Peace' throughout our
nation, the White House, the military, the other countries and the Islamic world
until the banner with an endless row of the word 'peace' surrounds our earth.
This technique will also help to bring oneself into a peaceful inner state and
will affect the atmosphere of our world. (This technique is an old technique
performed by the White Brotherhood of Light). Also to re-member the Divine,
knowing that the Divine is always in control of everything (how could it not, if
everything is God?).
We have to keep our thoughts and thus feelings clean and should focus on the
Divine and It's values, especially now. 'Happy-happy' is easy when there is no
crisis, now we are all challenged.
Let me finish with a quote of Martin Luther:
"If I knew the world would end tomorrow, today I would plant an apple
tree."
Take good care of your Self
Love
